Mindful travel in the Swabian Alb
The Swabian Alb
The Swabian Alb is home to the largest number of caves in Germany, numerous ancient volcanoes, quarries teeming with fossils, two sites of 15 million year old meteorite craters and Blautopf, a 21 m deep karst spring that emits an intense blue hue due to light scattering on tiny lime particles, making it one of the most popular tourist attractions among the many important geotopes of the region.
In addition, visitors will find numerous opportunities for hiking, biking, climbing, skiing and water sports.
As a biosphere reserve, the UNESCO Global Geopark Swabian Alb is characterized by its many conservation measures and local initiatives. Travelers open to learning about the region’s heritage of harmony with nature will return home with impressions that will last a lifetime.

Whether by train, bus, bike or on foot, I offer mindful travelers the chance to slow down and really appreciate the natural beauty and local friendliness without rushing from one place to another to “check off” the usual hot spots.
Mindful travel is the current buzzword, but to me it means truly connecting with a culture and its people to face the unknown and discover yourself in the process.
